The Winner of the Gloria Anzaldúa Prize is Angelica Maria Barraza Tran
for “Maria Maria Maria”
Angelica Maria Barraza Tran is a writer, sun chaser, lover of tea and all things sky, teacher, river swimmer, tender to an ever-growing rush of animals. She is the author of the poetry collection How to Know You’re Dreaming When You’re Dreaming, Lesson One (Inlandia 2023) & the prose chapbook Dreams the Water Gave Me (Fear No Lit 2018) – both of which are deeply invested in the exploration of connection: to ourselves, lovers, strangers, our ancestors & the world. She lives in California with her family.
