CALL FOR POETRY SUBMISSIONS OPEN

for 2025-2026

FlowerSong Press | Duotrope

a bilingual anthology focused on Pupusas

Pupusas nourish body and soul. They are an umbilical cord to the cultural, spiritual, and historical roots of Salvadorans and Central Americans in the US. Tell us your stories of immigration, arrival, resilience, identity, and community through the lens of the humble and mighty pupusa. We welcome poems written in English or Spanish.

CHICANX VISIONS BOOK SERIES No. 2

We are excited about the publication of Foundation, by Gustavo Barahona-Lopez, winner of the inaugural Chicanx Visions Book Series Project Prize, forthcoming from FlowerSong Press

With that we announce open submissions for Chicanx Visions Book Series No.2 sponsored by GenteChicana/SOYmos Chicanos Arts Fund.

CHICANX VISIONS BOOK SERIES No. 2

FlowerSong Press believes that it is important to promote Chicanx poetry and writing. Chicanx poetry has always been about both celebration and protest: celebrating Chicanx culture and people and continuing to fight injustice. With the book bans and suffocating laws trying to stop voices of Chicanx and other BIPOC and LGBTQIA+, it is necessary for books like this to be produced because it is necessary that the world see our place in it.

With that being said, WE OPEN A CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS IMMEDIATELY FOR CHICANX AUTHORS to send us a full-length collection of poetry.

Deadline for submission: November 2, 2023

We will publish a full-length collection through FlowerSong Press as the second in the CHICANX VISIONS BOOK SERIES. The author will have a contract and 25 complimentary books.
